What vehicle storage software is

Six things worth checking before you commit.
Built around the vehicle record
Everything — location, condition, care, documents, requests — should attach to the vehicle. If the system treats a car as a line in a booking rather than an object with a history, it will not hold up over a multi-year storage term.
Location that reflects reality
Bay assignment needs to be quick enough that staff actually update it when they move a car. A model that requires a five-step form will silently drift out of date.
Condition reporting with evidence
Guided capture, damage marked against the vehicle, and a timestamped record with the responsible staff member attached. This is the feature that matters on the day something is disputed.
Recurring tasks that generate themselves
Long-term storage is a maintenance problem. Care schedules should produce work automatically and record who completed it, rather than relying on a wall calendar.
A client-facing surface
A portal reduces inbound questions and raises the perceived quality of the service. For premium storage, it is increasingly what separates operators.
Room to grow
Multiple facilities, more staff, more vehicles. Check that the pricing and data model do not punish you for expanding.
