CarMarket24 is being built for a specific kind of operator: the ones who take custody of cars that matter to their owners, and who are currently running that responsibility on spreadsheets.
Why we are building it
Vehicle storage sits in an odd gap. It is not warehousing — every item is unique, valuable and individually owned. It is not a workshop — the vehicle is not being worked on, it is being kept. And it is not parking, because a car left alone for two years does not stay in the condition it arrived in.
Because it does not fit an existing software category, most facilities end up assembling their own system out of spreadsheets, paper condition forms, phone photo folders, calendars and messaging apps. It works, until the day someone asks a question that requires evidence.
CarMarket24 is our attempt to build the system that should already exist: one place where a vehicle's location, condition, care history, documents and owner requests all live together.
How we build
Four things we hold to.
The vehicle record comes first
Every feature attaches to a vehicle. If information about a car cannot be found from the car, the design is wrong.
Fast enough that staff actually use it
A location field that is tedious to update becomes inaccurate within a week. Speed of capture is a correctness feature, not a nicety.
Evidence over recollection
Condition, care and handover should produce records that hold up months later, with the responsible person attached.
Honest about what exists
We are pre-launch. We would rather show an operator the real state of the product than a convincing demo of something unbuilt.
Built by Blu Mint Digital
CarMarket24 is developed by Blu Mint Digital, a Melbourne digital studio building modern websites, software and digital products based in Melbourne, Australia.
The studio builds and maintains the platform end to end. In practice that means pilot operators talk directly to the people writing the software, and a problem raised on a Tuesday call can be in the product rather than in a backlog queue.
CarMarket24 is currently in development, working with a small number of early operators. If that is interesting to you, the pilot programme is the way in.
